The Foundation for Richmond County merged with The Cole Foundation in 2015. Together they have awarded more than $31 million in grants to local nonprofits.
Philanthropy leads Richmond County comeback
Like so many N.C. towns and cities, the passage of time has held many challenges for Rockingham, a city of 9,000 some 70 miles east of Charlotte. But now, the Cole Foundation in Richmond County is partnering with other groups to help lead a comeback for downtown Rockingham and the Sandhills region.
