This session is designed to help prepare your company’s employees for board service. Facilitated by Directors at The Lee Institute, this workshop features case studies, team challenges, discussion, and hands-on problem solving to address the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board service. Together, we look at case studies and discuss real-world scenarios to help board members or prospective board members understand the evolution of good-to-great board service.

  • Build knowledge about the basics of how nonprofit boards should function (best practice)
  • Demystify how to join a nonprofit board
  • Introduce the five core responsibilities of a nonprofit board Provide opportunities for participants to practice the thought processes required of board members
  • Create a network of the current and future philanthropic and civic leaders in the Charlotte region
