Grants Available For Lexington Area Nonprofits Lexington Area Community Foundation now accepting applications. August 13, 2007 — The Lexington Area Community Foundation is currently accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2007 Grants Program. Priority will be given to organizations that are initiating promising, new projects which cannot be covered by existing budgets. Applicants must be nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations serving Lexington area citizens. Grants do not cover capital campaigns, book publication, conferences, endowment funds, or individual needs. Approximately $7,500 is available to award. About the Lexington Area Community Foundation Established 11 years ago as a permanent endowment, the Lexington Area Community Foundation benefits a wide range of charitable purposes. As an affiliate of Charlotte-based Foundation For The Carolinas, the Lexington Area Community Foundation awards grants for new projects, assists donors in making charitable gifts and provides services to nonprofit organizations for the creation of new or management of existing endowments.
