Foundation For Richmond County

The Foundation For Richmond County was established in 1993 by local leaders to encourage philanthropy and secure resources to address local issues. In 2014, the foundation’s local board of trustees elected to transfer its grantmaking program to the Cole Foundation, which will streamline and enhance the approach to grantmaking in Richmond County, North Carolina.

Through 2014, the Foundation For Richmond County has awarded more than $32,000 in grants to 20 nonprofit organizations, which have benefitted Richmond County residents. The Board of Trustees have been extraordinary stewards of the resources entrusted to them and is proud of their grantmaking legacy.

Foundation For The Carolinas brings together charitable donors, community leaders and nonprofit organizations to make positive impacts throughout Richmond County, North Carolina.

  • Support local causes for generations to come with our planned giving solutions.
  • A competitive grant program, funded by a permanent endowment advised by the Cole Foundation board, addresses local issues and is directed by funding priorities established by the board.
  • Charitable donors, both individuals and businesses, have many options for supporting their favorite nonprofit organizations through the Foundation For The Carolinas while receiving the maximum tax deductibility. Donors can also support the educational needs of students through scholarship funds.
  • Nonprofit organizations address local issues and receive grants from the Cole Foundation in support of the board’s funding priorities. The back office charitable services and fund administration services of the Foundation can also be utilized by nonprofit organizations.
