In 2012, the Foundation’s geographic affiliates, family foundations, and special affiliated groups awarded $7,573,858 in competitive grants. These grants improve lives and enhance our region, affecting positive change and helping our nonprofits achieve their charitable missions.
Students from Salisbury Academy host the Holiday Joy Party for the clients of Rowan Vocational Opportunities. The Academy received a grant in 2012 from the Salisbury Community Foundation.
Competitive grants are awarded to nonprofits in support of specific programs that have explicit objectives, a predetermined budget and take place within a defined time frame. The funds are restricted and must be used for the designated project.
Foundation For The Carolinas also manages employee relief programs, through which businesses can provide grants to employees who are experiencing financial hardship resulting from unexpected life events.
