$5,000 to the Catawba Care Coalition for design and production of a billboard to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS, to increase access to and utilization of HIV prevention services, and to reduce the stigma related to HIV/AIDS in the community.

$5,000 to the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, Inc. to analyze water samples from Lake Wylie, to support the Lake Wylie Covekeepers, and to educate decision-makers about water allocation issues.

River Patrol Helps Clean Up The Catawba

To monitor the impact of human activities on the water quality of Lake Wylie, the York County Community Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, Inc. for research, boat supplies and gasoline.

Funds will also be used for the annual River Sweep clean up, to support the Lake Wylie Covekeepers neighborhood watch river patrol and to educate decision-makers about water allocation issues.


$10,000 to Girls On The Run of the Tri County to provide scholarship assistance to 152 girls.

$5,000 to Nation Ford Land Trust to raise awareness of York County’s assets and develop a vision for current and future projects by holding a community forum.
