School Marching Band Performs at Pearl Harbor

Eighty-one members of Denver's East Lincoln High School band received a powerful history lesson when the group was invited to participate in ceremonies honoring the 65th Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

In preparation for the journey, the band discovered transporting instruments to Hawaii would have been a costly endeavor. Instead a $1,000 grant from the Lincoln County Community Foundation to the East Lincoln Band-Aides enabled the musicians to rent instruments from a Honolulu high school.

$1,000 to Junior Achievement of Lincoln County to purchase materials for classroom presentations about the free enterprise system for 42 third grade classrooms across Lincoln County.
