Gardens Offer Restorative Power of Nature

In the moments surrounding death and dying, encounters with the natural world convey a sense of balance to the newly bereaved.

A $5,000 grant from the York County Community Foundation funded the creation of four therapeutic container gardens at Hospice & Community Care
in Rock Hill.  The gardens offer patients and their families a peaceful space to reflect, remember and mourn.  Local families and groups will add to the garden's growth by participating in commemorative plantings in memory of loved ones.
