Foundation Announces Effort to Pursue
Community’s Public Education Goals

Foundation For The Carolinas has announced the formation of a committee to explore the most effective and appropriate role for philanthropic giving to play in the community’s quest to achieve key school system goals. “This effort is an extraordinary opportunity for the private sector to deepen its support for public education,” said Catherine Bessant, the Foundation’s Governing Board Chair and a senior Bank of America executive.

Is Your Nonprofit at Risk of Losing Its
501(c)(3) Status?

Thousands of nonprofits in North and South Carolina are at risk of losing nonprofit status due to failure to file tax forms for three consecutive years – even those with revenues of $25,000 or less. The deadline to file has passed but the IRS is offering a one-time special filing relief program.
