Support for Single Fathers
The Cabarrus Partnership for Children encourages young, single fathers to take an active role in the lives of their children through its Father Support Group.
A $1,600 grant from the Cabarrus County Community Foundation funded a facilitator to lead the group’s bimonthly meetings during which participants learn parenting skills and share experiences. |
$680 to Communities In Schools of Cabarrus County to provide middle school students the opportunity to participate in Career Day and take a trip to UNC-Charlotte.
$2,500 to Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus County to connect volunteers and resources to families in need of adequate housing.
$2,000 to Junior Achievement of the Central Carolinas to expand its program about free enterprise, business and economics into Kannapolis schools.
$7,500 to the Piedmont Residential Development Center to purchase a customized wheelchair.
$3,000 to Prosperity Ministries to host an abused children’s camp.
Mariam Coltrane Schramm Benevolence Fund $100,000 Administered by the Cabarrus County Community Foundation, this fund was established through the will of Mariam Coltrane Schramm to assist citizens in Cabarrus County with essentials such as food, clothing and shelter.
Mariam Coltrane Schramm Benevolence Fund Grants:
$20,000 to the American Red Cross to provide assistance for victims and families affected by events such as natural disasters, single family fires and aviation crashes.
$20,000 to Cabarrus Meals on Wheels to provide meals to the elderly and homebound in Cabarrus County.
$20,000 to Cabarrus Cooperative Christian Ministry to meet the emergency needs of unemployed and underemployed individuals in the community.
$20,000 to the Junior Charity League of Concord to purchase clothing for needy children.
$20,000 to The Salvation Army to provide financial assistance to those in need.
